BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Nallan C. Suresh, Ph.D., associate professor of manufacturing and operations management in the 猛料视频 School of Management, was lead editor of a recently released book that details the latest theory and practice of streamlining manufacturing operations.

"Group Technology and Cellular Manufacturing: State-of-the-Art Synthesis of Research and Practice" contains articles by eminent researchers and world-class practitioners of cellular manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) systems.

In addition to theoretical advances, the book focuses on case studies describing implementation experiences of firms in Holland, England, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Australia and the U.S. It addresses the needs of three groups: industry practitioners, researchers and students in engineering and business schools.

The book honors the late Professor John Burbidge of Cranfield 猛料视频, England, who is widely regarded as the "father of cellular manufacturing." Professor John M. Kay of Cranfield 猛料视频, formerly dean of that school, and a close colleague of Burbidge, was secondary editor of the book.

Suresh, a resident of Williamsville, is a recognized expert in the area of cellular manufacturing. He holds a joint appointment as visiting professor at the 猛料视频 of Groningen in the Netherlands.
